Welcome to Lehigh Eye Specialists. Our practice specializes in the medical and surgical care of ophthalmic diseases and abnormalities. With extensive experience in their respective areas of expertise, our fellowship-trained ophthalmologists are able to provide you with “one-stop” specialty ophthalmic care. Dr. Kazahaya is a Posterior Segment Specialists, providing care relating to the Retina and Vitreous. Dr. DeRose is an Anterior Segment Specialist, caring for problems relating to the Cornea, Glaucoma, Cataracts, and Refractive Surgery. Together, with our friendly and professional staff, we strive to offer you the highest quality, state-of-the-art eye care in a caring and compassionate environment. Posterior Segment Dr. Kazahaya specialize in the diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous. Lehigh Eye Specialists has the region’s most modern and sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, including scanning laser ophthalmoscope-based digital fluorescein angiography (FA) with eye-tracking capability, high-definition spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (HD-OCT), the PASCAL laser (for greater patient comfort), conventional lasers, high-definition ultrasonography, and cryotherapy. With our expertise and specialized equipment, we are able to provide you with the most advanced retinal care for diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachments, macular holes, macular pucker, and posterior complications of cataract surgery. Anterior Segment Dr. DeRose specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of anterior segment abnormalities, including corneal edema and scarring, keratoconus, refractive abnormalities, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, and complicated cataracts. He has extensive experience in the latest innovations in this complex specialty. Dr. DeRose performs penetrating keratoplasty, DSEK, LASIK, PRK, glaucoma surgery, small-incision phacoemulsification for cataract surgery, and surgery for anterior complications of cataract surgery. Using specialized equipment, such as immersion biometry for lifestyle IOL’s, high-definition anterior segment OCT, corneal topography, and pachymetry, Dr. DeRose is able to provide his patients with the highest level of anterior segment care.
